Bergs Potter Large Københavner Terracotta Tall Pot
The Large Københavner Terracotta Tall Pot is the upright, deeper-bodied version of the large Københavner, with a more pronounced vertical form compared to the standard wide pot. The scalloped relief border sits just below the pronounced rolled rim, and the body tapers cleanly downward without any additional ornamentation. The taller proportions give it significantly more root depth than the standard large pot, making it the better choice for trees and plants with deep, established root systems. At 60 cm in diameter, it comfortably houses large specimen plants. Pot feet are recommended for outdoor use. It suits a specific set of large plant scenarios:
- Fiddle leaf figs and Ficus audrey at full height, where the deep body provides the root volume these trees need to stay stable and continue growing without frequent repotting
- Bird of paradise and strelitzia, whose rhizomatous root systems fill deep pots well and respond better to terracotta's breathability than to plastic grow pots
- Citrus trees like lemon or calamondin moved indoors seasonally, where the tall body accommodates their deeper tap roots and the classic scalloped detail suits a conservatory or hallway setting
The Københavner collection is one of the earliest and most recognised designs in the range, inspired by pottery made for the Royal Danish Palace of Fredensborg in 1860. Steffen Berg reinterpreted that original form after discovering antique clay pots at a former nursery, and it has been handcrafted in small family workshops in Italy ever since. The range spans terracotta and glazed editions across multiple sizes, including tall rose pots and low bowls.
From the Crafters:
The Københavner Pot has royal heritage and is one of the first pots designed by Bergs Potter. This noble pot is inspired by pottery made for the Royal Danish Palace of Fredensborg in 1860.
Years ago, Steffen Berg stumbled upon beautiful old clay pots at a former nursery and created the Københavner Pot, his very own interpretation of the pottery with royal origins. Today, the Københavner Pot is one of our most popular designs, and our potters still make it by hand in small family-owned workshops, keeping the old traditions alive. The legacy of the Københavner Pot adds an element of regal elegance even when paired with the humblest plant.
The Københavner Pot range includes numerous sizes in Rosa and Nordic Grey terracotta, including three tall Rose pots designed to accommodate the rose plant’s deep roots and need for growing space. It is also available in three sizes of a roomy low pot, which is great for experimenting with succulents, herbs, and bulbs in creative displays. The Københavner Pot is also available in a hand-glazed edition, which comes in a variety of different shades — all inspired by the colours of classic Copenhagen.

What Our Customers Say

This is definitely an excellent potting mix!
Once I replaced the mix of my alocasia with this, it started thriving and pushing out new sprouts. It's a chunky and airy mix so watering becomes more frequent but great for plants that hate wet feet and get root rot fast.

This is my third purchase of this potting mix, and it continues to impress. The drainage is excellent, and my plants have been growing healthier than ever.
Ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications. High-quality potting mix. Even though I definitely don't have green fingers. A reliable mix that makes plant care so much easier. Highly recommended.

Can't find a better soil mix to start my plant journey with! 2 weeks in and my plants are flourishing!
— H.K.
My alocasia stingray suffered from root rot and was attacked by mealy bugs. Potted an almost dead plant with just 1 yellowing leaf and few roots in this mix.
Today I cut off the last leaf and look, there is a sign of life. This potting mix is great. If I had known about this earlier, I would have fewer dead plants

Exactly 1 month since repot. This is a propagated anthurium and suffice to say, it absolutely loves the soil and the net pot.
I've had this plant since January and this is the first time it's growing 7 new leaves all at once! My only regret is that I wish bought a bigger pot because boy these roots grow fast!
— Gian J.
Excellent. Bought this as a recommendation from a friend and it works.

The soil is a good base and very suitable for adding amendments to suit the needs of your plant. I tried many soilless mixes, I like this one the most, for me it is the most versatile and easiest to use. Wish it came in a smaller 2L pack though. Good price and was delivered fast.

I'd highly recommend this potting mix as my alocasia roots grow very well and healthy in it. I'm also using it for other plant.
